Thank you! It’s always a pleasure to hear from another Jonathan Aris fan! Unfortunately, it seems like there are far too many people who are unable to separate their opinion of the character from the actor, which is disappointing to say the least. He really is a fantastic actor and he deserves more positive press!
(Though personally, I quite like Anderson, too, but this is an Aris blog, not an Anderson blog, so I’ll just shush! -C)

Sadly, the Anderson hate extends to Actor hate, hopefully we here can reverse that. So far, in his works that I managed to watch, he’s brilliant in them. Not to mention he’s a great narrator- a hundred voices in The Thousand Autumns of Jacob De Zoet and a soothing voice in Air Crash Investigations. Always glad to know there are more Aris Appreciators out there.

There wasn’t really an indication (feel free to correct me on this followers) on what “Anderson” is, if it’s either his first name or last name. But if we’re following, for example, Lestrade or Donnovan, we can say that Anderson is his last name.
Plus there was an tweet from Mark Gatiss that went around, someone had asked him what Anderson’s first name was. Mark replied with “Gillian”, perhaps referring to Gillian Anderson of The X-Files’ Dana Scully.
